Finally, I can go outside!

It's that time of year again! The air is fresh, the weather is cool and it's time to start making some comfort food!  I have been dreaming of fall for over a month now and have been doing things that let me "pretend" that it is coming. With the extreme heat we've had my ideas haven't worked out too well and have actually just made me more uncomfortable. (i.e. wearing my fall flannel pajama bottoms in 100 degree heat! Ugh.)

There's a lot going on at the Power House. Some of it not too exciting and some just downright stressful.  We are still looking for (good) renters for our beloved house Greenie. We've had some interest but not nearly as much as we had previously. I'm not sure if it's a combination of bad timing, crazy rental market or the zombie apocalypse. Regardless, we're on the hunt and hoping to get someone in this month.

Todd (and I) are busy planning our Halloween party. (Invites to go out this week).  Todd (and I) love Halloween and try to make our yard as scary and cool as possible every year. While I have always known that my husband can be a little "creative" when it comes to decorating, he's sort of starting to scare me. When we talk about planning all I hear is...."rockets....fire...explosion.....shooting flames." So basically our Halloween party will be interesting and I'm praying that our house remains standing afterwards.

I really like to do crafty things.  I have a lot of crafty items to craft with. I am way to Gemini to ever finish anything and my thoughts flow in and out of my head so fast half the time I don't even know what I am thinking.  However, I have managed to set up shop on Etsy and have sold a few things so far! Woohoo....Right now my shop is pretty lame (empty) but I am working on it! It's been on the top of my list for weeks. Unfortunately I never actually follow my lists and just write a bunch of things down to make myself feel like I'm productive and then complain when I can't find my list.  Often I hear from my husband, "didn't you make a list?" Which is followed by "yes but you know I don't use those."  My point is, I am attaching the link to my Etsy shop. Check it out and pass it on.  http://www.etsy.com/people/thepowerhouse?ref=si_pr

Since I always save the best for last...let's talk about Hank. He's almost 9 months old (on the 6th) and is growing like a weed! Maybe even faster than a weed because I've never actually let a weed grow for 9 months and measured it.  The baby is turning into a kid. He walks around furniture, sometimes lets go and tries to take a step. He eats real food. Like only real food. None of this baby food stuff for him. He still cuddles and gives slobbery kisses. He says "mama" and waves. He likes to fake cough and if you don't do it back he gives dirty looks (he takes after his daddy).  Basically he's perfect. Todd and I love having him around and feel so lucky that we get to be his parents. Life has sure sped up but it's good. Life is good even when it's crazy!

Welcome to the Power House!

Hello!
Thanks for checking in and being curious enough to see what kind of crazy antics we are all up to at the Power House.  Several ideas and ventures are flowing through the air right now so I thought I'd set up a place where family, friends and those in the cyber world who care enough to read this, could follow us and cheer us on!
My husband Todd, lovingly pointed out the sign on our door the other day that says, "Welcome to camp Run a Muck."  That pretty much sums us up!
